Algarve Coastline 3 hour boat trip with complimentary drink
Explore this beautiful coastline, see the dolphins (if they deem to make an appearance) enjoy great company and wonderful fresh air!
Meet @ 9.30 a.m. at the Naval Club in Portimão for 10.00 a.m.
departure on the Alegria. A complimentary coffee will be available while waiting.
There will be a bar open on the boat
for those wishing to buy further refreshments.
If you wish to round off your boat tour with a lunch at the
Naval Club, or go for a lunch only and meet up with other
members - they have a 3 course lunchtime menu or you can
choose à la carte - we can advise them of your booking.

18 Intrepid sailors turned up at the quayside for the trip. After embarking the Alegria headed out towards the sea and as the boat passed out of the protected harbour area she picked up a rather unusually high swell. For several of our members this proved to be somewhat upsetting and they were unable to appreciate the trip as much as has been possible on previous outings. The swell was also too much for the local dolphins who declined to make an appearance, to everyone's great disapointment.
Perhaps we will stay inland in future!

Our only previous visit to this beautiful restaurant was in 2019 - we would certainly have been back there before now but for the Covid-19 restrictions; so it’s now time to indulge your palate once again.
No menu for you to choose from, you will be served with a plethora of perfectly prepared Chinese & Japanese food to the table so that you can help yourselves to the items you fancy.
The lunch includes dessert and wine / soft drinks and coffee.
Inclusive price is €20 p.p.

This lunch is a replacement for the BBQ originally planned for the
same date at the Holiday Inn who informed us recently that
they were unable to host the event.

This has been one of CASA’s favourite restaurants for many years and it never disappoints; a beautiful location, tasteful decor with friendly and attentive staff makes this a winner. We were all
treated to a wonderful lunch consisting of quality ingredients carefully chosen by Chef Andi; the wine flowed as did the conversation and at its conclusion all were reluctant to leave and could have
well into the evening!

This restaurant is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and excellent cuisine, and it certainly didn’t disappoint, we’ve received feedback from some of our members to say how much they enjoyed
thier lunches. Originally planned as both lunch and dinner on November 28th we were forced by Covid-19 restrictions to re schedule to lunches on 3 consecutive days accommodating 60 of our members in
total. In the event this change worked extremely well and everyone seems to have enjoyed the excellent lunch provided by Luis and his attentive staff, firstly in the Garden Room on the first two
days, and since the weather rapidly changed on day three, this lunch was hosted in the cosy restaurant room with a lovely log-fire burning brightly to warm us all. Santa was unable to attend as usual
due to Covid-19 travel restrictions; however his elves and reindeer team did deliver a selection of presents in time.

Saturday 17th October
Car Treasure Hunt
Restaurante Dom Joao
Approx 40 km country drive from a start location in Silves where there is a cafe for non-alcoholic refreshments to a traditional Portuguese restaurant near the Alvor Aerodrome where we will have lunch.
Detailed Treasure Hunt starting point joining instructions will be provided only after booking.
Minimum 2 and maximum 4 people per car, all must be a CASA member. We don't recommend sharing a car between households but if you decide to do so please ensure you follow the current regulations.
The Treasure Hunt / Motor Meander will start from 10:00 (cars will be dispatched at short intervals between 10:30 and 11:00) and should take about 1 ½ hours to complete.
There will be a prize for the most clues correctly solved en-route.
Please note that this is not a race, there is no advantage in completing the route quickly!
The prize plus a trophy to be held for one year will be presented during lunch.
It is not necesary to take part in order to join the lunch which is available separately.
If joining for lunch only without taking part in the treasure hunt please arrive no later than 12:45 as the lunch will be served at 13:00 sharp.
We are additionally looking at holding a small quiz during lunch, there will be a small prize for the winner.

Jardim das Oliveiras is a traditional Portuguese restaurant with a long-standing excellent reputation. This will be CASA's first meal here.
Starters on the table to be shared -

Choice of deserts - "too many to mention"
Wine, bread, soft drinks, coffee etc. are included.
Various table sizes will be available to a maximum of 8 people.

Attendance will be limited to a maximum of 40 people.

30 CASA members and guests attended the “After Valentine’s Day” lunch at Ponto de Encontro in Carvoeiro on the 15th February. A Valentine’s quiz was held with the winner of this receiving a bottle of ‘bubbly’. To maintain the theme heart shaped chocolates were also served for all to have with their after lunch coffee. A wonderful meal and the great service received from Paulo, aided by his staff, was appreciated by all; we thank them for making this a very enjoyable occasion.
