This page provides information about our forthcoming events, all of which do require pre-booking and for the duration of Covid-19 are open to members only.
We normally include an allowance for gratuities, where appropriate, in our prices.
The first section shows the current events for which bookings can be made now via any committee member (contact information provided in the latest Club Newsletter) or via the form on the 'Contact Us' page.
Please note any 'last booking date' shown for an event, if none is shown then we need to receive bookings a minimum of 7 days before the function.
Driving directions to the venue and a road map will normally be added about 10 days before each event.
The final section contains advance information about future events which are still in the planning stage - details may change - significantly!
We normally aim to run 12 to 14 events during the year,
due to Covid-19 events are currently very limited and numbers
at each event will be restricted.
All events will remain as Members Only and
may be subject to change or cancellation at short notice
according to government rules regarding Covid-19.
Friday 18 JUNE
12.30 FOR 1 P.M.
ASIA - TOKYO RESTAURANT
PRAIA DA ROCHA
Our only previous visit to this beautiful restaurant was in 2019 - we would certainly have been back there before now but for the Covid-19 restrictions; so it’s now time to indulge your palate once again.
No menu for you to choose from, you will be served with a plethora of perfectly prepared Chinese & Japanese food to the table so that you can help yourselves to the items you fancy.
The lunch includes dessert and wine / soft drinks and coffee.
Inclusive price is €20 p.p.
Booking closed on 14th June.
This lunch is a replacement for the BBQ originally planned for the
same date at the Holiday Inn who informed us recently that
they were unable to host the event.
The Asia-Tokyo Restaurant is located at the western end of Praia da Rocha beach facing the beach and sea.
GPS: 37° 7'5.88"N 8°32'34.08"W
Map to the left shows suggested route (red) from Portimao (Barlavento) Hospital by the EN125 to the parking near the Praia de Rocha Beach.
Follow the main road (dual carriageway) from the hospital, keep to the left lane and take the underpass. Continue straight at the traffic lights
(June 2021 beware of major roadworks here), merge into a single lane for the nasty double-bend then merge into the next main road. Straight on (first exit) at the first roundabout then at the next (by the big Continente to the left) again straight on. Continue straight for 0.8Km and again straight on at the next roundabout and another 0.5 Km to the last roundabout.
If you are early and fancy a walk of 0.75Km you can go straight on at this roundabout and park in the beachfront car park. Then walk eastwards along the path towards Praia de Rocha and the restaurant will be on your left.
Otherwise turn left at the roundabout with hotels visible along the left of the road.
