CASA May Event
27 May 11am
CASA will be trading drivers for putters in May and heading to the deceptively dangerous greens of the Pro Putting Garden in Lagos, followed by a short victory march to lunch at Teito Sushi and Chinese Restaurant, tucked just inside the towering old walls of Old Town Lagos.
The Pro Putting Garden has recently undergone a complete resurfacing, so the greens should be rolling smoother than a politician during election season. Word is this course can be surprisingly challenging, so arrive prepared to showcase your finest putting wizardry. Forget cartoon windmills, pirate ships, and exploding volcanoes. This is mini golf that grew up, bought a collared shirt, and started judging your short game.
We tee off at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 27th. Convenient parking is located directly beneath the Pro Putting Garden and will also serve as your launch point for lunch afterward. One parking spot, two adventures. Efficiency worthy of applause.
After our grueling battle with the greens, we’ll replenish calories and wounded pride at Teito at 1pm.
Karen and I have personally field-tested the menu, a sacrifice we made purely in the interest of quality control. Teito rises well above the usual “all you can eat” experience, presenting sushi that often looks like it belongs in a gallery before it disappears in three enthusiastic bites. The chefs clearly believe food should flirt with art before becoming lunch.
Not a sushi devotee? No problem. Their Chinese dishes are equally delicious and fully capable of inspiring second helpings, loosened belts, and declarations such as, “I’ll only have one more plate.” ?⛳

June Event
Wine Castle Distributing
CASA members should prepare their taste buds for a gloriously grape-soaked afternoon this June. Hidden away like a contraband treasure map somewhere in the folds of the Algarve lies the wonderfully elusive Wine Castle Distributing, our destination for an afternoon of swirling, sipping, nibbling, and perhaps a little enthusiastic vocabulary about “notes of blackberry.”
Our host, Fabio, will lead us through a curated parade of white and red wines, each accompanied by hearty petiscos designed less as snacks and more as delicious landing pads for the next pour. Veterans of previous Wine Castle gatherings already know the danger here: one visit and suddenly your wine rack develops expansion plans.
Because these events tend to fill faster than a cork popping on New Year’s Eve, space is limited. Should demand overflow the cellar doors, we have secured June 9th as an additional date so that no deserving palate is left wandering the desert with only supermarket vinho.
We will gather at Wine Castle at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, with departure expected around 5:00 PM, give or take a spirited conversation or two. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase any wines sampled, along with selections from Wine Castle’s vast catalog of oenological temptations, all at dangerously attractive prices.
A final practical note from the Department of Sensible Footwear and Layering: the event takes place in the warehouse itself, which enjoys the full emotional range of Algarve weather. It is neither heated nor cooled, so dress for whatever climate Mother Nature uncorks that day.

SAVE THE DATE!
Our Thyme Christmas Event. December 12
Time and Details to be determined.
HELP!
We need your input to plan for future events. Do you want to ride donkeys at Paderne Castle? Perhaps an ATV guided ride through the wild Algarve back country? A boat tour up the Guadiana river? A trip to the ancient archeological mounds and structures in Huelva, Spain? The sky is the limit, so make your suggestions to any committee member who will research the idea and present it in this space.

Other Events
We are always looking for suitable venues.
If you can suggest somewhere suitable
for a lunch or dinner please
contact us at membersuggestions@casasocial.club to let us know the details.
NEW:
Members in good standing,
If we use your suggestion, your meal or event is free!
This page provides information about our forthcoming events, all of which require pre-booking. We normally aim to run 12 to 14 events during the year, numbers at each event may be restricted. Details of recently held events can be found here.
The first section shows the current events for which bookings can be made now. The final section contains advance information about future events which are still in the planning stage - details may change - significantly!
Please note any 'last booking date' shown for an event, if none is shown then we need to receive bookings a minimum of 7 days before the function. Some events may be limited due to facilities' capacities.
Tips/Gratuities:
We have previously included an allowance for this in the advertised price, however following suggestions from members this policy has changed. For all events AFTER the 2024 AGM we will no longer do this. Instead we will 'pass the hat' around towards the end of the event to collect an optional gratuity which will go directly to the staff.
Driving directions to the venue and a road map will normally be added to the description about 10 days before each event.
We always try to provide 'GPS' and 'What Three Words' location information, these are usually for the best parking place rather than the inside of a restaurant and may be more accurate than any provided by other sources - we do check them! If using a 'search' function to find an event (e.g. Google a restaurant) make sure it gives you the correct place - there may well be two places with the same name in the same general area.
